Ai Ai De Las Alas Busy With Various Projects Until The End Of 2015 But Finds Time To Help Jiro Manio And Other Charity Works

AI AI DE LAS ALAS topbills the new GMA Sunday noontime show, "Sunday PinaSaya", that will replace "Sunday All Stars" starting August 9 and where she'll play multiple roles. Said to be the local version of the long-running "Saturday Night Live" in the U.S., she'll be appearing with Marian Rivera, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Alden Richards, Julie Anne San Jose, Barbie Forteza, Valeen Montenegro and Jerald Napoles.

Ai Ai will really be busy with several projects. Now that her primetime soap, "Let the Love Begin", is ending this week, GMA is asking her to submit a concept for her own show. She's considering doing a game show, a talk show or a morning show.

She'll soon also start shooting her Metro Filmfest entry with Vic Sotto, "Romcomin Mo Ako", and she still has to go to the U.S. to promote GMA Pinoy TV. She and her son Sancho will soon open their own resto-bar in Pasig that will offer Asian streetfood. Then she will have a special fund-raising concert for a church, Kristong Hari, along Commonwealth Ave. on October 27 at MOA Arena.

"The title is 'For the love of Mama Mary' at ako ang producer," she says. "There will be several guest stars and performers, but the main artists will be the Singing Six Priests in the City and the Kerygma 5. They're asking me to sing an inspirational song like 'It's Raining Grace' na kinanta ko na noon with some nuns. This is my way of giving back kay Lord sa dami ng blessings Niya sa akin."

Some folks are accusing her of using Jiro Manio to be talked about. "Ang dami kong ibang tinutulungan nang walang nakakaalam, pero si Jiro kasi, high profile siya kaya di maiwasang pag-usapan. People ask about him, di sinasagot ko naman. Like noong mapabalitang namatay na siya, I had to answer na buhay pa siya at nagpakuha nga kami ng picture. Actually, mas okay na siya ngayon. He's cooperating with his doctors. Lagi niyang sinasabing gusto niyang makita yung tunay niyang amang Japanese. With the help of friends, na-locate na namin yung ama niya sa Japan, pero di ko pa kinokontak kasi di pa naman ready si Jiro. Hopefully, by Christmas, reading-ready na siya at madala ko siya sa Japan to meet his dad. Pero dapat pa rin siyang i-prepare doon kasi di natin alam kung ready rin ba yung dad niyang tanggapin siya. Baka hindi, ma-frustrate lang siya nang husto."

Editor Nestor Cuartero says he knows Ai Ai is financing the studies of seminarians for free and sending sick priests to the hospital. She has also been a volunteer in Mother Teresa's Home for Joy for more than 20 years and she does it secretly.

Will she be running in the next election? "Oo, pero hindi rito dahil green card holder na ko. Sa States, kakalabanin ko si Hilary Clinton."

She's also publishing her own magazine. "Dahil hindi ako isinali ng Yes Magazine sa kanilang Most Beautiful Issue (where Kris Aquino was chosen as the Most Beautiful), I will have my own magazine, tatawaging No Magazine at ako ang nag-iisang Most Beautiful. Joke lang! Pero talaga akong maglalabas ng magazine called
Ailabyu featuring my life story, my struggles and yung a fashion shoot with the latest creations ni Rocky Gathercole for me. Abangan nyo!"
