Newcomer Shy Carlos Gets Biggest Break As One Of The Leads In Viva's Horror Flick, 'Chain Mail'

NEWCOMER SHY CARLOS gets her biggest break in Viva's horror flick, "Chain Mail", directed by Adolf Alix, that opens on July 22. She plays Sandra, a young woman who gets so stressed when some of her friends start to die one by one. She investigates what is happening and discovers that the victims are people who disregarded a letter sent through a chain e-mail.

Among one of the first victims is her friend, Anne, played by Nadine Lustre, who later comes out as a ghost. Shy becomes shy when someone said that she's the lead actress in the movie.

"Hindi naman po ako lang ang bida rito," she demurs. "Lahat kami. Kasama rin namin dito sina Meg Imperial, AJ Muhlach, Khaleb Santos and Mark Bautista. Very important din po ang papel nila sa story."

So did she enjoy making a horror movie? "Actually, hindi nga po ako mahilig na manood ng horror movies kasi matatakutin ako. Kaya lang, ibinigay sa akin ng Viva ang project na ito, alangan namang tanggihan ko gayong maganda ang role ko. Overwhelmed nga ako na binigyan ako ng Viva ng ganito kalaking break. And I want to thank our director, Adolf Alix, kasi tinulungan niya kaming lahat para magampanan namin ng tama ang aming kanya-kanyang roles. Hindi pala madaling manakot nang viewers. Kailangang tamang-tama ang timplada ng bawat eksena, mula cinematography hanggang music and sound design, para siguradong magugulat at matatakot talaga ang mga nanonood. Tumaas talaga ang respeto ko sa mga artistang madalas gumagawa ng horror movie kasi it's no joke pala yung trabaho nila, lalo na kapag pinasukan ng computer generated special effects na kunwari umaarte ka, pero wala ka namang kaeksena talaga."
