Alice Dixson Leaves TV5 To Join The Cast Of GMA-7's Newest Remake Of 'Marimar'

ALICE DIXSON joins the cast of GMA-7's latest remake of "Marimar" and she will be playing the role of Mia, the mother of Megan Young who plays the title role. Alice's contract with TV5 has expired. She has done several soaps for them after she returned from Canada. Her last regular show with the Happy Network was "2& 1/2 Dads" with Robin Padilla.

She's now managed by Popoy Caritativo, who was the original manager of Marian Rivera when she was given the chance to play the role of "Marimar" in its first TV incarnation.

"It's nice to work with GMA again," she says. "I've done three soaps with them before kaya parang balikbayan lang ako rito with 'Marimar'."

The soaps she did with GMA-7 are "Ang Iibigin ay Ikaw", the sequel "Ang Iibigin ay Ikaw Pa Rin", and "Hanggang Kailan" which was directed by Joey Reyes.

Alice is celebrating her 28th year in showbiz. She started in 1987 when she won as Bb. Young Pilipinas. Regal Films quickly got her to be Joey Marquez' leading lady in "Bobocop" and Vic Sotto got her to play the role of Faye in IBC-13's hit fantasy-comedy, "Okay Ka Fairy Ko".
