Ogie Alcasid Happy With U.P.'s Distinguished Alumni Award For Culture And The Arts In Contemporary Filipino Music

CONGRATULATIONS to Ogie Alcasid for his recent award as the University of the Philippines Distinguished Alumni Award for Culture and the Arts in Contemporary Filipino Music. Ogie finished his communication arts course in UP in 1993 and the award was conferred on him at the UP General Alumni Homecoming at the Bahay ng Alumni in UP Campus. The award is given to graduates who have shown extraordinary achievements in their fields of endeavor and made excellent contributions to bring about substantial benefits to society and distinct honor to the university. "It's such a big honor and I'm so happy," says Ogie. "It energizes me and encourages me to do better in my work."

Ogie is also elated that his new Sunday noontime show on TV5, "Happy Truck ng Bayan", is rating quite well and supported by a lot of advertisers. "Ang ganda ng feedback, pati sa OJ segment naman ni Janno Gibbs where we sing songs na kami mismo ang sumusulat ng lyrics where we do a lot of roasting. Ang ganda rin ng feedback ng shows na ginawa namin on location in Tondo and in Marikina."
Don't miss another fun-filled edition of "Happy Truck ng Bayan" today where Ogie and co-hosts Janno, Derek Ramsay, Gelli de Belen, Jasmine Curtis Smith and many more, give away big cash prizes to all their game contestants.
