JC De Vera On The Reason Why His Romance With LJ Reyes Failed To Prosper

JC DE VERA is said to be the only one who's loveless among the Dreamboys since Matteo Guidicelli has Sarah Geronimo and Daniel Matsunaga is with Erich Gonzalez. But this turns out not to be true. Although his romance with LJ Reyes didn't prosper, he tells us he currently has a non-showbiz inspiration. "She's younger than me," he says. "We used to be schoolmates in Colegio San Agustin, but I'm not going to reveal her name kasi non-showbiz naman siya so I want to protect her privacy. Buti na yung non-showbiz kasi mas low key." He admits dating LJ for a while. "Pero naudlot, e."

It's said he got jealous when LJ did a 10-minute nude love scene with Luis Alandy in Director Jun Lana's "Anino sa Likod ng Buwan". "Hindi no? Pareho kaming artista and I know it's just part of our work."

Someone quipped it's because Michelle Madrigal, his very first girlfriend, returned to ABS-CBN and he's hoping they can rekindle their romance. "Yung sa'min ni Michelle, that's more than 10 years ago. Puppy love pa lang yun. Wala na yun, part lang ng growing up."

So why did he break up with LJ? "Hindi kami nag-break as we were never officially on naman. We both just became so busy with showbiz work and then I put up pa my own business, Burgery, at BF Paranaque, kaya no more time to see each other."

JC was so touched at his launch as Boardwalk's celebrity endorser for their HunK and Outerwear Collections. Boardwalk exec Issa Rodriguez had nothing but glowing praises for him then they showed a video tracing JC's career that was really a labor of love. "First time someone did this for me and I can feel you really love me," says JC. "I'm really using their Hunk collection of shirts, shorts and pants and their Outerwear collection of jackets, vests and cardigans as they're very smart and stylish. Ginagamit ko nga sa bago kong soap, 'Never Say Goodbye', and the new movies I'm doing, 'True Story', both with Jessy Mendiola. I'm also in another movie with Nora Aunor, 'Kabisera', intended for the Metro-Manila Filmfest.
