Krystal Reyes Has A Change Of Image From Api-Apihan To Kontrabida Role In 'Healing Hearts'

KRYSTAL REYES usually plays an “api-apihan” role in the soaps she’s done before, so her role in “Healing Hearts” is a complete departure for her. She started as a child actress who was the pretty daughter of Sunshine Dizon in “Bakekang”, then she played the angelic title roler in “Mga Mata ni Angelita”. She also played sweet roles in “Bantatay”, “Munting Heredera”, “Hiram na Puso”, “Anna Karenina” and “Bukod Kang Pinagpala”. She was last seen as Marian Rivera’s half sister in “Carmela” last year.

After several months, she’s happy to finally have another regular soap in “Healing Hearts”. “Hindi naman ako nabakante kasi, in between soaps, ilang beses akong nag-‘Magpakailanman’,” she says. “I was also in ‘Maynila’, ‘Wish Ko Lang’ and ‘Love Hotline’. Ngayon, heto, kontrabida ako kay Joyce Ching in ‘Healing Hearts’ and I welcome the challenge of playing a role that is so opposite of me in real life.”

Didn’t she have any second thoughts in accepting it as it may alienate her fans who are used to her playing sweet roles? “Not really. Okay lang maging kontrabida once in a while. As an actress, you should show na versatile ka enough to play all kinds of role. I’m really thankful to GMA for giving me the chance to show a different side of me in ‘Healing Hearts’ that starts airing on Monday, May 11.”
