“No, nagpapasalamat ako sa ‘Lauriana’ dahil it gave me an award, pero tapos na ko sa pagpapa-sexy,” she says. “Gusto ko namang mas mabigyang pansin ang pagiging serious actress ko ngayon.”
She has left Star Magic and is now with Viva Entertainment. Why did she have a change of managers? “I will always be thankful to Star Magic kasi seven years din ako sa kanila at diyan ako nakilala, but I felt it’s about time I experience namang ma-manage ako ng iba. Ang bilis nga ng development sa career ko. I just signed up with Viva last month at binigyan nila agad ako ng album with a music video to be launched soon. Sa Star, never nabigyan ng chance ang pagiging singer ko, e. And not only that, I’m now doing several new movies. I’m in ‘Pulis Maynila’ with Mark Anthony Fernandez and Jeric Raval, directed by William Mayo. Meron din akong ‘No Boyfriend Since Birth’ with Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez and another movie with Anne Curtis. And here nga sa BG Productions, I’m now doing ‘Tupang Ligaw’. So wala muna akong teleserye. Puro movies ang ginagawa ko ngayon. But since wala na ako sa Star, I’m now also given the chance to work with other networks and be part of the TV5 sitcom of Derek Ramsay and Empoy Marquez, ‘Mac & Chiz’. Mapapanood ako roon for the whole month of May.”
She was being cozy with Phil Younghusband the last time we talked to her. But we heard they’re no longer an item after exclusively dating for six months. What happened? “Well, we’re good friends pa rin naman. It’s just that wala siguro kaming chemistry, walang spark. Mabait si Phil but he’s too laidback for me. I wish him well.”
