TV5 Will Broadcast Live The Women's Volleyball Championships From May 1 To 9 At Philsports Arena

TV5 PROUDLY announces that it is the official host broadcaster of the upcoming Asian Under-23 Women's Volleyball Championships hosted by the Philippines. The Philippine team will be led by UAAP stars Alyssa Valdez, Jaja Santiago and Jia Morado.

All Philippine games will air LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on TV5. Further, all succeeding games in the tournament will likewise be aired on AksyonTV and via livestreaming on www.Sports5.ph. This is set to take place starting this Friday, May 1 to May 9 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

With the Philippine women’s team’s preparations for the tournament already in full swing, Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI), the country’s official governing body for volleyball signed up with TV5 for the exclusive coverage. Present during the official contract signing between TV5 and LVPI were Sport5 Head Vincent “Chot” Reyes and Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and LVPI President Joey Romasanta. LVPI Board members Atty. Ramon Malinao, Pedro Cayco, Jeff Tamayo, Richard Palou, Dr. Benjamin Espiritu and Congressman Victorico Chavez were also on hand during the event.

The U23 team was also well-represented with Bea de Leon, Joanna Maraguinot, Rissa Sato, EJ Laure, Ria Meneses and Morado in attendance. TV5 kicks off its exclusive coverage of the Asian U23 Women’s Volleyball Championships with the live airing of the Philippine team’s preliminary round games versus Iran (Friday, May 1 at 4:15PM), and Kazakhstan (Saturday, May 2 at 2:30PM). All tournament games will also be broadcast in Aksyon TV and via livestreaming on www.Sports5.ph.
