Marian Rivera Resigns From New Soap 'The Rich Man's Daughter'

MARIAN RIVERA’S new soap, “The Rich Man’s Daughter”, was supposed to have had its grand presscon last Thursday night, but it was called off at the last minute. We head her husband Dingdong Dantes deemed it wise that she no longer need to stress herself with work now that she’s in the delicate first trimester stage of her pregnancy.

Friday afternoon, we got this official statement from GMA-7: “Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera has withdrawn from her upcoming program ‘The Rich Man’s Daughter’ and her GMA Pinoy TV guestings abroad due to her delicate condition. GMA Network fully supports Marian’s decision and strongly believes that Marian and her baby’s safety is first and foremost. We would like to assure her supporters that Marian will still be seen in various in the Kapuso Network. We pray for a healthy and happy pregnancy for our dear Marian.”

We know Marian has already taped quite a number of episodes for the show, so we guess they will just discard these. We just don’t know if GMA-7 would still go on with the show and employ another actress. For her shows abroad, it’s said Ai Ai de las Alas will be taking over. When asked if she’d be willing to sub for “Rich Man’s Daughter”, Ai Ai said: “Sa katomboyan, okay lang ako diyan, pero sa kagandahan, ewan ko.”

A naughty writer has another suggestion as to who can replace Marian: “Since she said she won’t get pregnant yet, why not get Heart Evangelista?”
