Kapuso Teen Actor Ruru Madrid Graduates From High School And Wants To Take Up Film In U.P.

ANOTHER KAPUSO young actor, Ruru Madrid, also managed to finish high school despite his busy schedule. A product of "Protege", Ruru was quickly given regular roles in "Paroa, Kuwento ni Mariposa", "Dormitoryo", "Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas", "Seasons of Love" and "My Destiny". "Kahit pagod ako sa taping, tinutuloy ko ang pag-aaral ko and I'm glad nakatapos din ako," he says. "I feel another important chapter in my life has been accomplished and I dedicate my diploma to my family, most especially to my parents."

GMA has obviously big plans for Ruru as he is now all set to star with Gabbi Garcia, his partner in "My Destiny", in the TV remake of the hit Richard Gutierrez movie, "Let the Love Begin". "Panay ang pagwo-workshop namin ni Gabbi ngayon to make sure na pareho kaming magiging handa sa challenges ng aming respective roles," he adds. "Gusto naming mas ma-improve pa ang pagharap namin sa camera at aming chemistry. Sa ngayon, regular din kaming napapanood in 'Sunday All Stars'."

Is he really falling for the charms of Gabbi even off cam? "At this point, we're just the best of friends. I'm happy na ako ang naging escort niya noong graduation ball nila sa St. Paul. But ayaw naming madaliin ang lahat kasi pareho kaming mas priority ang careers namin. Pagbubutihin muna namin ito and let's see what the future holds for us."

What is his plan for college? "I'm hoping to take up film at the University of the Philippines. Gusto ko talagang maging serious sa craft ko."

"Let the Love Begin" has already held its official story con and it's obvious that GMA-7 truly believes that Ruru and Gabbi will make a great new love team. Their launching soap will be supported by a big cast, led by Ai Ai de las Alas as Ruru's mother. Also supported them are Gina Pareno, Ariel Rivera, Donita Rose and Gladys Reyes, to be helmed by Gina Alajar who has to quit her directing job in "Yagit" just to devote all her undivided attention and time for this new project. She was replaced in "Yagit" by Don Michael Perez. Gina has directed Ruru and Gabbi before in a one-week mini-series in "Seasons of Love" and she has a good working relationship with them already so she's the one chosen to direct them in "Let the Love Begin", the originally movie of which was megged by Mac Alejandre.
