Neil Perez, The Cop Who Won As Mr. International, Now Acts On TV5's 'Wattpad Presents'

NEIL PEREZ, the cop who won as Mr. International in Seoul, Korea recently, now plays the title role in “My Ex, My Professor”, the story to be featured in TV5’s hit “Wattpad Presents” from March 23 to 27. His real name is Mariano Perez Flormata and he looks so much better in person. He is the first to admit that he’s the shy type. “Mahiyain talaga ako,” he says while we’re interviewing him.

So does this mean he’ll now join showbiz for good? “No. Tinanggap ko ito kasi nag-adjust sila sa schedule ko. I used to be a bombs and explosives technician but I now have an 8AM to 5PM job sa PR ng Aviation Security Group. Tapos ako ng criminology sa MLQU at pagpupulis pa rin ang priority ko.”
He says that the TV5 show is not his first. “First ko yung ‘Magpakailanman’ last September where I played myself. Then nag-guest din ako sa ‘Maynila’, both with GMA.”

Did he take an acting workshop? He shook his head. “Alam naman nilang baguhan ako kaya matiyaga sila sa’kin, like our director sa Wattpad Presents, Ricky Rivero. Suwerte rin ako kasi napakabait ng leading lady ko, si Isabelle de Leon. Mas beterana siyang artista at tinutulungan niya talaga ako.”


What’s his role in “My Ex, My Professor”? “I’m Viel Anueva, a math professor. I had a girlfriend before, si Isabelle nga as Hannah, who suddenly dumped me without even saying anything. Then she suddenly showed up din in my class as one of my students, so biglang nabuhay yung nakaraan namin, pero may bago na siyang boyfriend, played by Matt Edwards of ‘Amazing Race’.”
