Coco Martin-Julia Montes As Dreamscape's Magical Summer Campaign In 'Yamishita's Treasures' Of 'Wansapanataym'

AS PART OF Dreamscape’s Magical Summer campaign, Coco Martin now stars as Yami in “Yamishita’s Treasures”, a special edition of “Wansapanataym”. Why did he accept it when he’s known as the Teleserye King seen nightly and not just every Sunday like in “Wansa”? “After ‘Ikaw Lamang’, nag-rest muna ko sa TV and did ‘Feng Shui 2’,” he says. “While waiting for my next teleserye, inoffer nga sa’kin itong special project na pambata. Nang ilatag sa’kin ang concept, parang ‘Indiana Jones’ at ‘The Mummy’. Sabi ko, maganda yan, parang mas maganda gawing full length teleserye. Pero yun na nga, special treat lang daw to kids this summer so I agreed to do it kasi reunited din kami rito ni Julia Montes after ‘Ikaw Lamang’.

Is there something romantic going on between them now? “Special friends pa rin kami. Let’s face it, magtu-20 pa lang siya sa March 19 at ako naman, 33 na, malaki ang agwat ng edad namin. Hayaan muna natin siyang mag-grow. When we first worked together, 15 pa lang siya, ang taba pa ng pisngi niya, chubby-chubby pa siya. I’ve seen her mature a bit. Now, dalaga na siya, ang ganda-ganda, but let’s wait some more. Basta sabi ko, huwag muna siyang paligaw sa iba.”

In “Yamishita’s Treasures”, Coco plays a treasure hunter named Yami who gets hold of an old map leading to a missing treasure. Julia plays a “diwata” named Tanya. She lives in their own land of Engkanto with Bing Loyzaga as her mom and Eddie Garcia as her grandpa and king of their place. But Noni Buencamino wants to usurp Eddie’s throne so Julia goes to the land of mortals to search for the same map that Coco holds. Also in the cast are kid actor Alonzo Muhlach, Arron Villaflor, Ryan Bang, Marlan Flores, directed by Abel Sumpongco. This starts airing on March 22.
