ALDEN RICHARDS says 2014 was definitely a good year for him. He was paired with Marian Rivera in the hit “Carmela”, he starred as Jose Rizal in “Ilustrado” and he went into hosting with Regine Velasquez in “Bet ng Bayan”. He welcomed 2015 with a new endorsement as the face of Boardwalk for its Artiste Collection for city boys. And he’s also able to buy his dream house with 300 sq. m. and five-bedrooms in Nuvali, Laguna.
“Yung dati namin kasing bahay sa Sta. Rosa, binabaha,” he says. “This one is bigger so mas may space na para galawan ang family namin.”
He turned 23 recently and instead of having a big party, he chose to take part in a build-a-home project in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that builds homes for the poor. This encouraged him to see to it that helping charities will be an annual thing for his birthday. In fact, he is now looking for more outreach programs where he can be of help. Another blessing for Alden is doing the short film, “Kinabukasan” with Nora Aunor for Director Adolf Alix. It brought him last year to the Hanoi International Filmfest and right now, he’s with Ate Guy and the director in Europe to attend the Rotterdam International Filmfest where “Kinabukasan” is once again an entry. They will stay there for one week and return to Manila on February 2 to start a new project with GMA-7.
