Tyler Florence returns with The Great Food Truck Race on August 17th

Tyler Florence, chef and television host of several Food Network shows, is returning for the fifth season of The Great Food Truck Race on August 17th. He's a host who has been given an honorary doctorate from the Johnson & Wales University for his culinary success.

Now his task will be to guide the contestants, the food truck hopefuls through the high-stakes culinary road trip which takes the participants through the U.S. Eight teams will be competing each other for the grand prize of $50 000 and they also get to keep their own food truck. Like in previous season, none of the teams taking part of the race owns a food truck themselves and are currently not food truck operators. The food trucks they will be using during The Great Food Truck Race has been designed based on the proposed concept of each team.

The teams participating in this season are Lone Star Chuck Wagon (BBQ, Tex-Mex), Let There Be Bacon (bacon-inspired dishes), Military Moms (comfort food), Beach Cruiser (authentic, fresh California cuisine dishes), The Middle Feast (Middle Eastern food dishes), The Gourmet Graduates (dish idea still open), Chatty Chicken (fried chicken with sweet tea sauce and southern dishes), Madres (authentic Mexican dishes).

The fifth season will be seven episodes long with the premiere on August 17th at 9pm ET/PT.
