Sincere Condolences To The Families Of Fred Galang And Aida Fandialan

CONDOLENCES to the family of former movie actor turned pastor Fred Galang and Gov. Vilma Santos’ most trusted confidante-accountant, Aida Fandialan.

The late Fred Galang started acting in the movies in 1964 in the late Eddie del Mar’s “Bonifacio, Ang Supremo”. He was given his biggest break in Nepomuceno Productions’ “Igorota” with Charito Solis in 1968 for which he won the FAMAS best supporting actor award. Other movies he did with Nepomuceno are “Ang Pulubi” (also with Charito), “Pipo” and “Manhunt”. He later did sexy flicks in the 70s like “Free Love”, “Ecstasy”, “Tag-Araw”, “Diamonds Are for Eva”. As a director, he helmed action flicks like “Batang Bicol”, “Prodigal Brothers”, “Mad Killer” and “Secret Mission”. He later migrated to the U.S. and became a pastor.

We got from the account of Divina Valencia in social media that Fred was cremated last Tuesday after his wake at Cinco Estrellas Memorial Chapel at Quirino Highway, Novaliches. According to his son, Ferdinand, the late actor-evangelist had a stroke while he was here in Manila on July 13 and was confined at the Pacific Global Medical Center in Mindanao Ave. He eventually passed and his ashes will be taken to the U.S. to be with his family in Los Angeles.

The late Aida also had a massive stroke last Monday. She was Gov. Vi’s connection with the entertainment press. She’s very efficient and friendly. Whenever we write something about Gov. Vi, she’d quickly text us to thank us. She also used to work with Aga Muhlach. She will be laid to rest today.

Let’s pray for the repose of their souls and may God let perpetual light shine upon them.
