Ryan Agoncillo On Judy Ann Santos: "I Married A Good Person"

RYAN AGONCILLO says their home in Alabang was badly hit by typhoon Glenda. “Wala kaming ilaw from Wednesday to Sunday so we moved to Bellevue Hotel and got a two-bedroom suite,” he says.

But he continued to work just the same, reporting in “Eat Bulaga” and taping “Ismol Family”. We visited him on the set of “Ismol Family” and he says the cast and Director Dominic Zapata are so happy because GMA management is very pleased with the show and its rating is rising steadily. It’s shown Saturday nights after “Vampire ang Daddy Ko”.

“I’m really happy with this show,” he says. “Direk Dom is a good captain of the ship. Enjoy kami lahat sa taping at magaan ang trabaho. Usually, before midnight, tapos na kami.”

How about talks that his game show “Picture Picture” will come back? “I’m not sure. Kung magagawa bang one show is on Saturday and the other one is on Sunday, di okay lang.”

His wife Judy Ann Santos’ “Bet on Your Baby” will also have a new season. They used to be pitted against each other. “If ever, hindi na kami papayag na mangyari uli na we oppose each other. We spoke about it. Once is enough, pero kung uulitin, napag-usapan naming one of us will give way. Huwag magkatapat uli. Magastos, e. Kasi tuwing Sabado ng gabi, kumakain kami sa labas para hindi kami manood ng TV sa bahay,” he laughs.

Their marriage is considered one of the most stable in showbiz and it’s obvious from their aura that they’re really happy with each other. “Well, thank you. May mga gusot din naman kami but I’m always thankful, every morning ’yan, nagpapasalamat talaga ako dahil ang napangasawa ko, mabuting tao. I think it begins from there. She’s really a good person. Pag gising ko sa umaga, nasa kusina na siya, naghahanda na sa pagpasok ng mga bata sa eskwela. I don’t think I could wish for anything more. Pero, siyempre, you really have to work on it. I try my best to do my part. Since mabuting tao siya, sinusubukan kong tapatan nang konti ’yon.”

Now that he’s no longer returning to “Talentadong Pinoy”, so many names cropped up as replacement, from Willie Revillame to Ogie Alcasid and Richard Gomez and Marvin Agustin. “Mahal ko yung show but then, the director, Rich Ilustre, hindi na puede. E, ayaw naming gawin kung hindi kami ang magkakasama. But may timeline na ang TV5 as to when the show will come back. We couldn’t meet that and we’re really sad about it.”
