Jak Roberto Is The 3rd Ginoong Laguna Runner Up To Join Showbiz After Alden Richards And Jeric Gonzales

JAK ROBERTO is one of GMA Artist Center’s talents who is also in Louie Ignacio’s “Asintado”. “I play the son of a rich man, Benjie Felipe, na naging kaibigan ni Jake Vargas, na anak naman ni Aiko Melendez,” he says.

Jake was discovered when he became 2nd runner up in the Ginoong Laguna Pageant 2012. “Si Alden Richards joined it in 2011 at si Jeric Gonzalez naman noong 2013. Sunod-sunod kami.”

Born John Rommel Roberto on Dec. 2, 1993, he’s from Nagcarlan, Laguna and he finished Hotel and Restaurant Management at PWU Laguna. Aside from “Asintado”, he’s also a regular host in Kuya Germs’ Walang Tulugan. He also did an advocacy film against anti-bullying, “Potpot” by Ray An Dulay, where he played the lead role as the son of Richard Quan and Louella de Cordova. “It’s now making the round of various schools to show students that bullying is bad,” he adds.

So how is it acting with Aiko Melendez in “Asintado”? “Napakagaling niya, walang lumalaylay na eksena niya, very dedicated. Intimidated nga akong kaeksena siya. I wish she’d win as Cinemalaya best actress.”

His wish is for GMA to give him another soap. “My last was ‘With a Smile’ nina Andrea Torres. Hindi pa nasusundan uli.”
