Cristine Reyes Admits Exclusively Dating A Half Persian Martial Artist

CRISTINE REYES plays the title role in “Trophy Wife” and it’s the kind of very challenging bida-kontrabida role that can win awards, like Lorna Tolentino’s scheming Rosita Monteverde role in the “Maging Akin Ka Lamang”. As Lani, Cristine is already the wife of John Estrada, but she still tries hard to seduce John’s brother who happens to be her ex-BF, Derek Ramsay as Chino, and she’ll do everything to get Derek back and snatch him away from Heart Evangelista. Cristine is a vastly underrated actress and we have no doubt she can portray her role persuasively.

It’s common knowledge she and Derek briefly went steady. How is it doing love scenes with him in “Trophy Wife”? Was anything rekindled between them?

“We remain good friends naman kahit short-lived lang ang romance namin noon, so kahit may konting ilang factor sa umpisa doon sa bath tub scene namin, we’re okay, comfortable kami with each other,” she says. “Actually, mas intense yung love scenes namin dito kaysa sa ‘No Other Woman’. Pero dun sa isyung magkakabalikan pa kami dahil dito, wala na yun. Napag-usapan na namin noong friends for life na lang kami. I can see happy siya being single now at ako naman, I’ve been dating a non-showbiz guy, half Pinoy-half Persian. Martial arts trainer siya. One year na kami exclusively dating, but we’re not officially on yet. We’re taking it slow. Better to be careful, di ba?”

Aside from “Trophy Wife”, Cristine is also finishing another movie, a sex-comedy with Anne Curtis and Sam Milby, “The Gifted”, written and directed by Chris Martinez.
