Teen Actor Miguel Tanfelix Comes A Long Way From Being Starstruck Runner-up

MIGUEL TANFELIX says his starring role in “Niño” is really an answered prayer. “Ipinagdasal ko talaga sa Diyos na mabigyan sana ako ng lead role,” he says. “At heto nga, isang napakagandang inspirational drama pa ang ibinigay Niya sa akin na ako pa ang title role, kaya sobra-sobra ang pasasalamat ko.”

Miguel has really come a long way from the 5 year old boy who was first runnerup in Starstruck Kids ten years ago. He has definitely matured and become more serious with his craft. Bianca Umali, his ka-love team in “Paroa” and “Mga Basang Sisiw”, attests to this.

“Ibang Miguel ‘yung nakatrabaho ko ngayon as he has changed for the better,” says Bianca. “Mas focused siya sa bawat eksena, at parang may pinaghuhugutan talaga ng mga emosyon niya. I’m proud of him and I’m really happy na magkatrabaho ulit kami rito sa ‘Nino’.”

Miguel enjoys the praises he gets, but he’s taking them all in good stride. “I’m really blessed to have been given a break like this at very challenging ang role ko as a mentally challenged boy. Noong 8 years old siya, nabagok ang ulo niya in an accident at dahil doon, he grows up but his intelligence remains that of an 8-year old boy. Bonus pa ‘yung magkasama kami ni Bianca rito sa ‘Niño’. Mas masaya kasi may long-time friend ako sa set. Komportable na kaming magkasama sa eksena.”

This week, you’ll see how the boy Nino growing up to become the teen Miguel. But first, he becomes good friends with Katrina Halili as Hannah. Little do they know that they are really mother and son. Barangay Pag-asa continues to encounter a lot of problems because of the evil Jay Manalo as Lucio, who wants to corrupt the people there, much against the will of Kuya Germs as Barangay Captain Pete. You’ll also see how Nino becomes brain damaged in an accident involving his friends. But later, Nino will meet a little boy named Tukayo, who is actually the Sto. Niño (David Remo), and they will prove that nothing is impossible as long as faith and hope are kept alive.
