Teen Actor Julian Trono Doesn't Mind Supporting Miguel Tanfelix in 'NINO'

TEEN ACTOR JULIAN TRONO played a lead role in “Anna Karenina” and the movie “Purok 7”, but he now just supports Miguel Tanfelix, who like him started as a child actor, in “Nino”. How does he feel about it?

“Okay lang po, team player naman ako and I play a good role as Cocoy, the reliable best friend of Miguel and Bianca Umali,” he says. “Kapag may problema po sila sa story, ako ang unang tumutulong sa kanila.”

After “Purok 7” last year, he has a new entry in this year’s Cinemalaya, “Ronda”, with Ai Ai de las Alas, directed by Nick Olanka. “Nagpapasalamat po akong napasama ako sa movie kasi mga taga-ABS sila, tapos Kapuso ako. Maganda rin po ang role ko as anak ni Ms. Ai Ai. Isa siyang astig na policewoman. Tapos, ako, bading. Noong una, kabadong-kabado ako sa shooting nang makaeksena siya. Pero napakabait po niya. Nagpatawa agad kaya na-relax ako.”


They’re all happy that “Nino” rated well and got positive feedback from viewers in its first week of airing. The main characters in Barangay Pag-asa are quickly established, with Katrina Halili as Hannah, who lost her sanity after her husband Gabriel (Tom Rodriguez) was brutally murdered and her younger son gets missing. The boy is adopted by a childless couple, Angelu de Leon as Leni and Neil Ryan Sese as David, with Gloria Romero as Lola V and Luz Valdez as Tiya Epang helping them. After Katrina is released from the mental hospital, she gets to meet her son again who accidentally goes to her old house, but of course, she has no inkling that the boy is her missing son. Later on, the boy will meet an accident when he’s 8 years old, affecting his brain and he’ll forever have the intelligence of an 8-year old boy.
