Maricar Reyes Celebrates First Wedding Anniversary With Richard Poon On June 9 But No Baby Yet

MARICAR REYES is celebrating her first wedding anniversary with singer Richard Poon on June 9. The fact that she accepted playing contravida to Bea Alonzo in “Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon” means she doesn’t intend to have a baby yet. “Ayoko namang nagte-taping ako, tapos buntis ako,” she says. “When we got married naman, we really planned na for one year, mag-focus kami sa isa’t isa at huwag muna mag-baby. Kasi pag may baby na agad, makakabawas ng time ninyo together. But once nagka-baby na kami, I want to focus on the baby na lang and on being a good mom.”

So how is married life so far? “Nakaka-mature kasi you don’t think of yourself na lang, you also have to consider your partner. Nagkakaroon din kami ng small misunderstandings, like any married couple, but naaayos naman agad at hindi kami natutulog nang hindi ito ayos.”

In “Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon”, she plays the role of Zsa Zsa Bayle, daughter of Dina Bonnevie. Dina marries Bea’s dad, Chinggoy Alonzo, owner of a big chocolate factory. “I’m Bea’s evil stepsister. Magsasabwatan kami ni Ms. D with Tonton Gutierrez to get rid of Bea’s dad at siya pa ang mapagbibintangan sa pagkamatay nito. Maraming maiinis sa character ko dito.”
