Manilyn Reynes Says Perennially Late Janno Gibbs Is A Changed Man

MANILYN REYNES was asked if Janno Gibbs, who’s notorious for being late, continues to be a latecomer when they tape “My BFF”? “Ay, hindi na,” says Mane. “Okay na okay siya.”

“Kayo naman, kung late pa rin ako, do you think kukunin pa ko ng GMA?” says Janno. “E, ayan nga, tuloy-tuloy ang assignments ko sa kanila. After ‘Pyra’, I did ‘Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw’ at ngayon, ito namang ‘My BFF’. Matagal na akong nagbago. Hindi na ito ang dating Janno.”

Janno and Manilyn play the parents of child actress Mona Louise Rey in “My BFF”. “Ngayon lang kami uli nagkatrabaho ni Mane in a show like this at bagay itong material for us kasi, in real life, pareho kaming mga magulang na. Ang BFF sa titulo refers to Jillian Ward, ang kaibigan ni Mona Louise who turns out to be a ghost na tutulong sa aming pamilya every time we have a problem.”

How’s it working with GMA’s top child actresses? “Pareho silang maganda, parehong sila napakabata pa, pero napakagaling na sa pagdadrama. Definitely, stars of the future ang dalawang batang ito. Sana alagaan sila ng GMA hanggang sa pagdadalaga nila. Pareho na silang nine years old. Four years na lang, teenagers na.”

“My BFF” will start airing on Monday, June 23, to replace “Innamorata” that will have its final episode this Friday.
