Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real' Will Surely Please Lovers Of Domestic Dramas

WE SAW THE first two episodes of “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real” and those who love domestic dramas will surely enjoy it. It opens with Maricel Soriano as Millet receiving an award for being a top educator. Then she decides to take a walk and meets an accident. That’s how she meets Dingdong Dantes as Anthony Real, who takes her to the hospital. In the next scene, they’re already celebrating their 10th anniversary and has a son. We’re not told how Dingdong falls for Maricel despite their age gap.

The show’s writers make in-law problems the couple’s foremost concern. After ten years, Maricel’s dad, Robert Arevalo, still can’t accept Dingdong as a son in law and continues to disparage him as a “pipitsuging arkitekto”. Lovi Poe as Shiela is introduced right in the first episode when she suddenly has an epileptic attack in the middle of the street. Dingdong takes her to the hospital and that’s how eventually they get to know each other, a relationship that later blooms in full in Cebu, where Lovi and her family are based. So Dingdong meets both Maricel and Lovi in the street and takes them to the hospital in both instances.

The acting of everyone is generally above average, but the pilot episodes are actually dominated by Coney Reyes, who registers very strongly in her attention-getting role as Dingdong’s feisty and protective mom. You’ll applaud her in her confrontation scene with Robert to defend Dingdong. This early, we’d say she’s a shoo in for a best supporting actress . She effortlessly steals every scene she is in.
