Eula Caballero Feels So Bless As Joey De Leon's Daughter In 'One Of The Boys'

EULA CABALLERO feels so blessed to have Joey de Leon playing her dad in her first sitcom, “One of the Boys”, where she plays a tomboyish taxi driver named Gabi, with Gabriella Silang as her full name. “I’m really thankful to be given the chance to work with Tito Joey dahil he’s a legend in comedy,” she says. “We all learn so much working with him kaya personal akong nagpapasalamat sa kanya for agreeing to do this show with me as his daughter. Hindi siya maramot in sharing what he knows about doing comedy. First day pa lang ng taping, he told us, ibaba nyo yung script. Laruin lang natin ito. Kunin lang natin ang thought then subukan nating mag-adlib para mas natural lumabas. Sobrang saya niyang katrabaho.”

And how is it working with the five Fil-Brit guys of “Juan Direction”? “It’s fun, kasi tulungan kami. Tinatanong nila ko about their Tagalog lines, what does this mean? And I help them pronounce it correctly. Mabilis naman silang matuto. I’m paired here with Daniel Marsh, the group’s leader. Marami kaming kilig moments dito.”

Most of the shows she did before are dramas, like “Nandito Ako”, “Sa Ngalan ng Ina”, “Third Eye” and “Cassandra Warrior Angel”. Did she have difficulty adjusting to comedy in “One of the Boys” that starts airing tonight and every Saturday at 9 PM?

“Hindi naman. Kasi nagko-comedy rin naman ako in ‘Tropang Unli’ with Ogie Alcasid. Yun nga lang, gag show yun. Unlike ‘One of the Boys’ na sitcom at tuloy-tuloy ang story. Also, our directors, Robert Quebral and Jon Red, help me para magawa ko nang tama ang role ko as the only girl who grew up in a company of boys at mahusay mag-drive at magmekaniko. The show is very entertaining and we guarantee that the viewers will enjoy watching it dahil it’s perfect weekend viewing.”
