Alessandra De Rossi Tired Of Villain Roles, Happy To Be Hosting 'Basta Every Day Happy'

ALESSANDRA DE ROSSI adds a new dimension to her showbiz career: as a talk show host. Better known in drama and in doing contravida roles, hosting “Basta Every Day Happy” starting tomorrow morning on GMA-7 is truly a new challenge for her.

“But I’m really happy with this kahit ninenerbiyos ako kasi sawa na rin ako in doing villain roles na paulit-ulit,” she says. “Dream ko talagang mag-host ng ganitong show. Two years ago, naiisip ko nang mag-retire. As an actress, masaya ako dahil may trabaho ako. But personally, I want to do something else at hindi na lang yung lagi kang salbahe on screen, nananampal, nakikipag-away, nang-aapi ng bida. Parang ang bigat niya. For ten straight years, ‘yon lang ang ginagawa ko! So na-burn out ako. Buti na lang binigyan ako ng mabait na roles as best friend sa ‘Magkano ang Pag-ibig’ at dito sa new show, ‘Dalawang Mrs. Real’, best friend din ako ni Maricel Soriano. And now, best friend na ako ng bayan sa ‘Basta Every Day Happy’ kaya masaya na ang beauty ko.”

She’ll also have to chance to show her cooking skills in the show. “Mahilig talaga akong ma

gluto, e. Pinagluluto ko ang mga kapatid ko, si Assunta, at yung sisters ko from Italy nang nandito sila. Also my friends.”

How about her boyfriend? “Wala. Seven years na kong loveless at okay naman, sanay na ko, hindi na nga ako naghahanap. It’s the least of my priorities.”

And how’s her working relationship with co-hosts Chef Boy Logro, Gladys Reyes and Donita Rose? “Masaya. Nagkasundo kami agad. Pare-pareho kasi kaming kalog. First time ko with Donita at ang lakas niyang tumawa. Nag-taping na kami at sabi ng mga nanonood sa studio, lalo na ng director naming si Louie Ignacio, okay naman daw ang chemistry naming lahat.”

For their pilot show tomorrow at 11 AM, their special guests are the Starstruck I discoveries led by Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras, runners up Yasmien Kurdi and Rainier Castillo, plus Nadine Samonte, Dion Ignacio, Katrina Halili, Jade Lopez, Anton dela Paz and Alvin Aragon. Sheena Halili didn’t make it as she’s in Boracay, Christian Esteban now lives in the U.S., Cristine Reyes is now with ABS-CBN, while one member has already passed away, the late Tyron Perez. So if you want to brighten up your mornings, don’t miss “Basta Every Day Happy” at 11 AM on GMA-7.
