The Ups And Downs Of Love Affairs In Showbusiness

GLADYS REYES and Christopher Roxas have one of the most stable marriages in local showbiz. They recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. “But before we got married, 11 years kaming mag-boyfriend so bale 22 years na kami, all in all,” says Gladys. “We met when we were in our early teens sa original ‘Mara Clara’ series and now, after ten years, we have three kids."

But while Gladys and Christopher bask in the glory of their durable union, it looks like it’s a season of breakups in showbiz. Maricar de Mesa and husband Don Allado separate after 7 years. Three Kapuso couples all parted ways: Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann, Aljur Abrenica and Kylie Padilla, and Louise de los Reyes and Enzo Padilla.

But there are those who now flaunt their new found loves. Zsa Zsa Padilla was very open in showing off the new man in her life, Architect Conrad Onglao, when as they watched together Gary V’s concert at the Big Dome last weekend. Meantime, Jake Cuenca, who was previously linked to Roxanne Guinoo, Melissa Ricks and Lovi Poe, now shows off his new GF with their photos in Instagram. She’s a Fil-Aussie model named Chanel Olive Thomas, proudly declaring: “She makes me happy”. Also announcing their engagement is SexBomb member Jopay Paguia and Manouevres Dancer Joshua Zamora. They say they will have a simple garden wedding this coming June.
