MICHAEL V and Wally Bayola are better known as comedians but on Holy Tuesday, they will show their dramatic side in “Eat Bulaga’s” Lenten presentation, “Hakbang sa Pangarap” with Bea Binene, Assunta de Rossi and Joey de Leon. It’s the tale of paralytic couple Noel and Carmen Perfecto (Michael and Assunta), who are able to raise a normal and happy family in spite of their disability. Even while their daughter, Nina (Bea), inherited her parents’ illness, she grows up to be jolly, creative and productive. Nina is Noel and Carmen’s joy for she is a brave girl who is able to hold her own outside Barangay Maligaya.
The second episode for Holy Tuesday is “Kulungan Kanlungan,” starring Maricel Soriano, Pia Guanio, Keempee de Leon, Isabelle Daza and BJ “Tolits” Forbes, directed by Gina Alajar. Sedes is eldest in a brood of four, all spinsters and bachelors, assumes the responsibility of looking after her siblings’ welfare. Sedes is protective of her brothers and sisters for fear that they might suffer their parents’ fate. Eventually, the strict stance leads her siblings to wrong paths. Love for one another still triumphs, however, when tragedy befalls them. Don’t miss the inspiring stories offered by “Eat Bulaga” this Lent, Wednesday to Friday, at 12 noon.
