Bangs Garcia Baffled As To Why She Continues To Be Linked To Enrique Gil

BANGS GARCIA just won the Gawad Pasado best actress award for her crackerjack portrayal of a battered wife in “Lauriana”, but here she is now playing a supporting role in “So It’s You” as Tom Rodriguez’ two-timing common law wife. “Okay lang naman yun,” she says. “Hindi porke nagbida ka na, you’ll just stick to lead roles. I want to be versatile na puede kahit bida o kontrabida. In ‘Dyesebel’ nga, I play villain to Anne Curtis. Later on, ako ang magiging reyna ng karagatan at aagawin ko ang korona from the present queen na si Eula Valdes.”

How come she’s being persistently linked to Enrique Gil? “Hindi ko rin alam. We’ve worked together before sa movie na ‘The Reunion’, but I wasn’t paired with him but with Kean Cipriano. Then nagkasama kami once sa Japan. Nagkita lang kami roon by chance. He was with his family and I was doing a show. Nagpakuha kami ng picture together at nang lumabas yun , nasulat na kami na raw. Pero ni hindi nga kami nagkikita lately. The last time I saw him was in Sinulog pa in January, by accident din lang yun. At saka, mas bata siya sa’kin, e. 26 na ko, 22 lang siya.”

Someone saw her in a mall recently with a non-showbiz guy. “He’s just my friend. Ayoko munang mag-boyfriend. Nage-enjoy ako sa single life ko ngayon.”

She enjoyed doing “So It’s You” with Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana. “Si Tom, nakapareha ko na before in a show when he was still with ABS-CBN kaya magkakilala na kami. Si Carla, ngayon ko lang nakasama, along with our director, Jun Lana. Okay na okay sila, masasarap katrabaho so I really had fun doing ‘So It’s You’ na second movie ko sa Regal after I did the ‘Lamanlupa’ episode before in a ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ movie.”
