He has done a lot of work as a child actor. At ABS, he was the young John Estrada in ‘Hiram’, the young TJ Trinidad in ‘Gulong ng Palad’. On GMA-7, he played the young Mark Herras in ‘Encantadia’. “I was nominated po as best child actor as Rufa Mae Quinto’s brother in ‘Masikip sa Dibdib’,” he says.
Unlike other child stars who grow up vertically challenged, he now stands 6’1” and will turn 18 on July 18. He was told to try playing basketball. “Enjoy ako, pero showbiz po talaga ang gusto ko. Before I made a showbiz comeback, mataba ako, e, so nag-gym muna ako, nag-diet and I’m so glad nang kunin ako ng GMA. I’m so happy to be a Kapuso actor. I signed a 5-year contract with them.”
Is he ready to go sexy? “Okay lang, yung mag-join sa Cosmo Bash, gusto ko yun. Pero magpapalaki muna ako ng katawan. Kapag may abs na ako at okay nang tingnan ang katawan ko, I’m ready for mature roles.”
He’s sad that “Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw” will soon end. “Sayang nga, e. But I’m hoping mabigyan ako agad ng next assignment. Nagpapasalamat lang ako kasi mababait lahat ng nakatrabaho ko rito sa ‘Paraiso’, sina Kristoffer Martin, Kim Rodriguez at Joyce Ching. I really enjoyed working with all of them kasi mababait silang lahat sa akin.”
Who’s his crush among GMA actresses? “Si Kris Bernal. Gandang-ganda ako sa kanya. Sana mabigyan ako ng chance na makatrabaho ko siya someday.”
