Opm@Pagcor Singing Contest Now Accepting Applicants For Their 4th Year

KARL ARIS TANHUECO is the grand winner of OPM@PAGCOR3 Singing Contest. “Winning in it gave me the chance to do shows in various Casino Filipino branches and perform with some of our most talented performers like Pilita Corales, Rachelle Ann Go, and KZ Tandingan of X Factor Philippines,” says Karl.

As PAGCOR’s homegrown artist, he’s optimistic that this will be his stepping stone to achieve bigger goals. “With PAGCOR, mas madali kong makakamit ang pangarap kong makilala ng tao dahil sa chance to perform in different venues.”

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPM) now announces “OPM@PAGCOR 4: A Nationwide Search for the Total OPM Performer”. OPM Prexy Ogie Alcasid says this contest serves as a vehicle for OPM and PAGCOR to regain the Filipinos’ appreciation of original Pinoy music. “PAGCOR and OPM want to revive the glory days of OPM. We believe that through this singing search, we are helping the younger generation to realize the beauty of our own music,” he says. “Our past winners have been given several opportunities by PAGCOR. Apart from the cash prizes they won, they’re trained to become versatile performers through workshops and to perform with the best in the local music industry.”

PAGCOR’s AVP for Entertainment Bong says past winners are now mainstay performers in various Casino Filipino (CF) branches nationwide. “They have toured the country while doing concerts in our various venues. Their talents are recognized not just by our audience but even by our celebrity performers and artists.”

The OPM@PAGCOR 4 is now open to all amateur singers aged 18 to 35 years old as of March 31, 2014. A trophy and cash prize of P300,000 go to the grand winner; P200,000 for the second placer; and P100,000 for the third placer. The grand winner will also get a performance contract with Casino Filipino. Those who will make it to the Top 12 will get P20,000 each. Nationwide auditions will run from April 2 to April 30, 2014 in different Casino Filipino branches. Deadline for applications will be on March 30 for Luzon applicants; April 2 for Visayas and Mindanao; and April 30 for Metro Manila. The Grand Finals Night is slated on June 6, 2013, 8:00 p.m. at the PAGCOR Grand Theater of Airport Casino Filipino in Paranaque City.
