Mother Ricky Reyes' Child Haus For Ailing Kids Celebrates 10th Anniversary

CONGRATULATIONS to beauty maven and philanthropist Mother Ricky Reyes now that Child Haus, the shelter he put up for kids with cancer and their parents, is celebrating its tenth year. Since he started it, they’ve been able to help about 11,000 cancer patients and their families.

“Gusto ko lang pasalamatan lahat ng mga taong tumulong sa amin over the years,” he says. “Unang-una si Hans Sy and his family for donating to Child Haus its permanent home at 90 Mapang-akit St., Brgy. Pinyahan, Diliman, Quezon City. Siya rin ang tumulong sa counselling ng mga bata and their parents kasi we don’t want them to feel depressed because of their sickness. Maraming other volunteers who regularly go to Child Haus. Teachers from Miriam College come every week to tutor the kids. Some performers, dancers and singers also visit to cheer up the kids once in a while.”

He also wants to thank other “guardian angels”: Korina Sanchez, who sustains the upkeep and maintenance of the dining area; Cris Aquino of Travelpros for the prayer room; volunteers from UERM; the Salvation Army; and the Victory Christian Fellowship. Celebrities who also shared their time and resources to The Child Haus include Divine Lee, Luis Manzano, Angel Locsin, Karylle, Ogie Diaz, Jenine Desiderio, Daniel Padilla, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Nelson Canlas and Henry Omaga-Diaz. Mother Ricky is hoping more kind-hearted persons will help childhouse in the next ten years.
