“Nagdaan nga ang Christmas and New Year na hindi kami nag-uusap, even if we still live under the same roof,” she says. “It’s just like other mother-and-daughter relationships na nagkakaroon ng misunderstanding. I know that as a daughter, ako ang kailangang gumawa ng first move bilang respeto sa aking ina. Let’s just wait for the right time kasi there’s a bond between us that cannot be broken. She raised me all by herself kaya kahit na anong mangyari, siya po ang nanay ko at mahal na mahal ko po siya. Hindi naman puwedeng mawala ‘yun ng basta-basta.”
So is she and Jake now officially on? “No, friends pa rin lang kami. Walang commitment.”
What can she say that Jake’s elder sister, Jerika, is now pregnant, courtesy of Bernard Palanca? “I don’t think I’m in a position to say anything, because I’m not part of their family. Para sa akin, let’s just respect that. If they have something to say or if there are questions about what they’re going through, mas okay kung sila na lang ‘yung tinatanong instead of me.”
She’s happy to be very active in both the small and big screen. “Galema” has yet to end but she’ll start taping as Betty, the villain in “Dyesebel”. After “When the Love is Gone”, she has now just made a new movie “ABNKKBSNPLako” with Jericho Rosales for Viva Films. So how’s it working with Echo? “He’s great, napakagaling na actor kaya masarap katrabaho. Maganda ang role ko sa movie as the elusive object of his affection. Wala akong name rito. I’m just called his Special Someone. Una, I rejected him kasi si Paul Jake Castillo ang pinili kong maging boyfriend. When we broke up ni Paul Jake, bumalik ako kay Echo, then nang balikan ako ni Paul Jake, nakipag-break uli ako sa kanya. Abangan nyo ang resolution ng love story namin in our high school reunion.”
