Tj Trinidad Plays A Doctor Obsessed With Camille Prats In 'Borrowed Wife'

TJ TRINIDAD is lucky that right after “Genesis” ended, he’s been given a new soap assignment, “The Borrowed Wife”, co-starring with Camille Prats, Pauleen Luna and Rafael Rosell. We tell him we got tired of watching him as the bad guy in “Genesis”. “Ako rin, napagod ako roon,” he says. “As someone obsessed with Rhian Ramos, lagi akong galit. Actually, hindi nalalayo ang role ko ngayon in ‘The Borrowed Wife’. This time, obsessed naman ako with Camille Prats. She’s married to Rafael Rosell, but when she figures in a fire and lost her memory, I made her believed na ako talaga ang asawa niya. I play a doctor here na binago ang mukha niya and I’ve played that kind of role before in ‘Hiram na Mukha’ na binago ko rin ang mukha ni Heart Evangelista sa ABS in 2007, so binago ko ang atake ko rito para maiba naman.”

TJ ran as councilor in Pasay last May but he didn’t win. He says he no longer entertains having a political career but will just focus on acting and his family, especially now that his wife Marga has given birth to their second child on Dec. 21, a baby girl named Renata Christianne. “Our first born, Alonzo, is now 1 year and 5 months. We didn’t plan na sundan agad, but ibinigay, so thankful kami and tama na yun, at least we have a boy and a girl na.”

He has finished two films last year, “Sana Dati”, a Cinemalaya entry where he won best supporting actor as Lovi Poe’s supportive groom, and “Mga Anino ng Kahapon”, which won for Agot Isidro the New Wave best actress award in the Metro-Manila Filmfest. For 2014, he has two offers for new movies, one a period film set in the 1890s about Gen. Antonio Luna to be directed by Jerrold Tarog (who also helmed “Sana Dati”) and a film about the late Ishmael Bernal directed by Chris Martinez, with whom he has worked before in “100” with Mylene Dizon. “Sana, parehong matuloy,” he prays.
