Marian Rivera & Jennylyn Mercado Topbill GMA-7's Lineup Of New 2014 Shows

GMA-7 HAS officially announced in their TV trailer plugs the new shows that they’re showing on primetime starting January, 2014. This stars with “Carmela” starring Marian Rivera in the title role, Alden Richards and Agot Isidro, directed by Dominic Zapata. Then there’s “Rhodora X” with Jennylyn Mercado in the title role, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Mark Herras and Yasmien Kurdi. The last is “Kambal Sirena” with Louise de los Reyes in dual roles (one of which is a mermaid), with Aljur Abrenica, Winwyn Marquez and Mike Tan.

In the afternoon block, their new soaps are “Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw” and “The Borrowed Wife”. “Paraiso” stars Kim Rodriguez, Kristoffer Martin, Joyce Ching and Gabby Eigenman, directed by Joyce Bernal. “Borrowed Wife” stars Pauleen Luna, Camille Prats, TJ Trinidad and Caridad Sanchez.

Over at ABS-CBN, the first show they announced for 2014 is a sitcom, “Home Sweetie Home”, to start its telecast on January 5. We weren’t able to attend its presscon as we hosted a Christmas dinner for some relatives and friends in our home. It’s a family comedy starring John Lloyd Cruz, Toni Gonzaga, Sandy Andolong and Rico Puno and aims to bring the glory day of situation comedies like in the heydays of the long-running “John en Marsha”. Let’s see if the viewing public would be ready to watch sitcoms again after years and years of viewing nothing but sudsy soap dramas.
