AS A DIRECTOR, Ricky Davao has helmed many newcomers in GMA-7 and he says one of the most talented among those he has worked with is Robin Padilla’s daughter Kylie. “I’m really praying ‘Adarna’will make a big star out of her,” he says. “She deserves it kasi maganda siya, mabait and really serious with her craft. Pero mahirap gawin ang show namin dahil sa flying scenes. E, when we started taping this, laging umuulan kaya problema talaga. For the aerial shots, I got Raymart Santiago dahil meron siyang special camera for aerial scenes at magkasama kaming sumasakay sa helicopter to shoot yung mga eksena ng langit and what’s happening down below. Then we have to tape on location sa Quiapo church and its surroundings. Nakiusap kami talaga to allow us to shoot there. Mahirap kasi sobrang matao ang lugar. But we were even allowed to shoot sa itaas ng simboryo or belltower ng church with Jean Garcia shown letting go of some doves in that scene."
Ricky is now a grandfather. His eldest son, Kenneth, has a one-year old love son with his girlfriend.
