Pokwang Thrilled To Do Love Scene With Jestoni Alarcon In 'Call Center Girl'

POKWANG gets to play another title role in “Call Center Girl” after “A Mother’s Story”. She plays Teresa, an OFW who works in a cruise ship for 13 years, leaving her three kids with her husband, Jestoni Alarcon. Their three kids are Diane Medina, Arron Villaflor and Jessy Mendiola. Diane and Arron accept her as their mom but the youngest, Jessy, is alienated from Pokwang as she grew up without her mom on her side. By the time Pokwang returns home, Jessy is already working as a call center agent, so Pokwang applies to the same company for her to be near her daughter whose affection she’s trying to win back.

“Nakaka-relate ako sa story kasi naging OFW naman talaga ako in real life,” she says. “Makabuluhan yung movie kasi both OFW and call center agents can relate to it. Tribute namin ito sa kanila. Ipinapakita rito how working abroad affect the lives of children in the family that they leave behind. Director Don Cuaresma also explored yung call center culture in our country and gives valuable insights about their work and lifestyle. But then, mahirap ang buhay nila kasi baligtad ang mundo nila. Nasisira ang social life and lovelife nila. Ang magiging ka-close ko, yung mga kapwa ko call center agents like K Brosas, Ogie Diaz, Chokoleit and John Lapus, with Enchong Dee as our boss.”

John Lapus reveals that Pokwang was “kinikilig” when she learned that Jestoni Alarcon will play her husband in the movie. Wala kaming bedscene o laplapan kundi very light kissing scene lang.”

“Call Center Girl” opens in theatres on November 27 as part of Star Cinema’s 20th anniversary celebration.
