Janice De Belen On Being Loveless: 'Sanay Na Akong Mag-Isa'

JANICE DE BELEN is super busy these days. She plays Joey Paras’ mother in the movie “Bekikang”. On TV, she is in two new shows, “Buzz ng Bayan” with co-hosts Boy Abunda and Carmina Villaroel on Sundays, and the new weeknight soap, “Honesto” where she plays the adoptive mom of title-roler tot actor Raikko Mateo.

“I have to work hard dahil puro nag-aaral pa ang apat ko pang anak,” she says.

So, unlike her ex-hubby John Estrada who has since remarried and now has a new child with Priscilla Meirelles, she remains loveless.

“Wala na akong time sa love life kasi very hectic talaga ang schedule ko. Meron pa akong ‘Spoon’ sa Net 25, di ba? Last time, magka-boyfriend ako was five years ago pa. E, hindi ko rin naman hinahanap na magkaroon ng karelasyon. Magiging dagdag lang na conflict yan sa oras ko. So honestly, it’s not in my list of priorities. Pagdating sa pag-ibig, I don’t think I still have to prove anything kasi may mga anak na ako. Ang importante, you’ve tried to love and it’s okay if you lost. Kaysa naman you didn’t try at all. So kapag hindi umuubra, wag ng ipilit. Siguro hindi talaga para sa akin. As it is, okay naman ako. Happy naman ako sa ginagawa ko. Fulfilled naman ako sa work ko, sa mga anak ko. At saka feeling ko, after five years of being single, hindi ko na alam kung ano ang feeling na maga-adjust ka ulit sa isang tao. Sanay na akong mag-isa.”
