Rosanna Roces found guilty for contract violation

AFTER EIGHT long years, Rosanna Roces was found guilty by the QC Regional Trial Court of violating her contract with GMA-7 in 2004 when, as a host of ‘Startalk’, she appeared in its rival show on ABS-CBN, ‘The Buzz’. Her alibi is that she told GMA-7 that she already wanted to retire from showbiz.

GMA-7 filed a breach of contract case against her and Judge Alfonso Ruiz III of the QCRTC Branch 216 says: “She cannot unilaterally dismiss a contract which she voluntarily entered into with the mere declaration that she is retiring from show business, and then escape the obligations stated in the contract.”

Osang has previously filed for the dismissal of her case but the court rejected her request. She’s now required to pay GMA-7 about P2 million in exemplary damages, attorney’s fees and cost of suit.

It’ll be recalled that Osang had a falling out then with her co-host Lolit Solis, who revealed that her teenage daughter Grace is pregnant with Jolo Revilla as the dad. She denied this but it turned out to be true. The boy is now under the care of Jolo. Osang’s career suffered because of that and she was never able to recover. She was last seen playing a very short role as Joey Marquez’ wife in “On the Job”. Wonder where she’d get the money to pay for the damages when everyone knows she doesn’t have a regular acting job nowadays.
