Presenting The New President-CEO And New Entertainment Head Of TV 5

TV5 OFFICIALLY introduced to the press their new MediaQuest Pres. & CEO, Emmanuel “Noel” Lorenzana (replacing Ray Espinosa), along with Wilma V. Galvante as Chief Entertainment Content Officer. Lorenzana has wide experience in marketing fast-moving consumer products as chairman of Unilever Malaysia and Singapore, Managing Director of Unilever Shanghai, Managing Director of Home & Personal Care Products for Unilever Philippines and President-COO of NutriAsia Condiments Company for Datu Puti & UFC. In telecom services, he was EVP and Head of the Wireless Consumer Business at Smart.

He’s connected with the Lorenzana Family that makes the famous Lorenzana Bagoong and Patis. Singers Joanne and Guji Lorenzana are his relatives. He’s married to Gina Lorenzana of Unilever and they have three kids aged 20, 17 and 10 who grew up mostly abroad when he was stationed in Shanghai, Singapore and Jakarta. He’s tasked with the challenge of turning around TV5, while maintaining the growth momentum at Cignal TV towards leadership in the Pay TV industry.

Wilma Galvante has been in the TV industry for three decades, having worked with RPN9 and GMA Network. As head of the Entertainment TV Group, she’ll also head TV5’s Talent Management and Development Team aimed to cultivate TV5’s own pool of homegrown talents. She started with TV5 as a consultant last year.

“I also actively participated in the talent search, Artista Academy,” she says. “Then last December, MVP (Manny V. Pangilinan, their top honcho) asked me if I can go on board full time as he is setting up a new team. Siempre, you cannot say no to an MVP. I also saw his purpose and vision for the network and it’s admirable. I also welcome the challenge of being able to contribute to a struggling network.”

Tomorrow, we’ll share with you their new programs that will start on September 14 and 15.
