Make Way For Newcomer Dawn Jimenez As Gerald Anderson's Leading Lady In 'On The Job'

NEWCOMER DAWN Jimenez considers it a big break to be paired with Gerald Anderson in Star Cinema’s “On the Job”. Her first appearance was in the Cinemalaya entry last year, “The Animals”, where she played a party girl who gets raped and killed by a lecherous taxi driver. She got nominated twice as best new movie actress for her performance in that indie film.

“It was there na napansin ako ni Direk Erik Matti at kinuha ako for ‘On the Job’,” she says. “I was then still using my real name, Dawn Balagot. Pero ngayon, ginawa na ngang Jimenez. Nakasali rin ako sa ‘Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo’, which I did later than ‘On the Job’, pero mas naunang ipalabas.”

Dawn is 20 years old and taking up culinary arts at St. Benilde. She started with modelling and is now enjoying her stint in showbiz as an actress. She has a hot love scene with Gerald in ‘On the Job’ that took eight hours to shoot.

Kinakabahan ako but when we were shooting it na, naging comfortable naman agad ako with Gerald. Magaan kasi siyang katrabaho. Kasi he’s such a gentleman. Talagang after the scene, inaabutan pa niya ako ng towel para takpan ang katawan ko. I’m really thankful na for my very first love scene, siya yung naging kaeksena ko dahil very considerate siya. And I feel so lucky na first mainstream movie ko, nasali pa sa Cannes International Filmfest at ipalalabas din next month sa mga sinehan sa U.S.A.” .
