Habagat And Maring Badly Affected TV Tapings And Box Office Takes Of Movies

THE TAPINGS of many TV soaps were affected by the nonstop rains brought about the joint forces of Habagat and Maring. Because of this, most of these daily shows now have to double up as they have no more stock episodes for showing. Some episodes are taped this morning and aired on the very same night. Don’t be surprised if you’d see many scenes being taped in the rain as they really had to go on with the taping even if it’s pouring, or they’ll have nothing to show. “Kung hindi, baka mag-live show na lang kami,” says one production manager.

The showing of Gov. Vilma Santos’ “Extra” was also badly affected by the inclement weather since people didn’t want to go out of their houses and preferred to just stay home. Also affected was the premiere nights at Gateway and Glorietta Theaters of Rufa Mae Quinto’s “Ang Huling Henya” on Tuesday night, which had to be cancelled. Its opening day on Wednesday was also affected as it’s still raining hard. Here’s hoping they’ll still be able to recover at the box office now that the weather has improved.
