Dawn Zulueta Doesn't Mind Being Second Choice To Maricel Soriano

DAWN ZULUETA was just a replacement for Maricel Soriano in “Bukas na Lang Kita Mamahalin” after Maria had a personal clash with Gerald Anderson who’s supposed to play her son. Didn’t Dawn hesitate to accept the role even if she were just the second choice?

“No, I didn’t have any second thoughts at all,” she says. “Kinuwento nila sa akin ang story and I like naman the role I will play, so why not? At saka makakasama ko rito sina Dina Bonnevie and Tonton Gutierrez with whom I’ve worked before sa Viva, so masaya kami sa reunion namin dito.”

After playing mom to Coco Martin in “Walang Hanggan”, how is it working now with Gerald? “Siya na ang bago kong anak. Sa age ko ngayon, siya talaga yung puede ko nang maging anak. He’s very focused, very professional, magaling siya, mabait, kaya love ko siya.”

She described Coco then as “yummy”. What about Gerald? “Yummy yummy,” she laughs.

In the story, Dawn plays Zenaida, who’s married to Gabby Concepcion. Gabby is accused of a crime he didn’t commit and dies. They have a son, Miguel, who’ll grow up to be Gerald. She then meets Tonton Gutierrez, who’s marriage to Dina Bonnevie has been annulled. They get married but Dina harbours so much hate for Dawn because of this. The tragedy in Dawn’s family is repeated when Gerald is accused of raping Diana Zubiri and gets jailed. “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” is produced by Deo Endrinal’s business unit, Dreamscape, who also did top teleseryes “Walang Hanggan”, “Ina Kapatid Anak” and “Juan de la Cruz” before.
