Victor Basa Doesn't Care If People Doubt His Masculinity As He Plays A Gay Role In 'My Husband's Lover'

WE LAST SAW VICTOR BASA in TV5’s “Nagbabagang Bulaklak”. He now plays Tom Rodriguez’ gay boyfriend whom Tom dumped later in “My Husband’s Lover”. “Free lancer naman ako so I can work with any station, basta kunsaan may trabaho,” he tells us at the presscon of “My Husband’s Lover”.

Didn’t he have second thoughts accepting the project since he himself was subjected to gay rumors before? “Okay lang, hindi naman totoo. But I think viewers are ready for a show like this that will help make more people understand kung ano nga ang kuwento ng mga lalaki at bakla. But kung may magsasabi about my performance na it’s so easy and natural for me kasi ganun naman talaga ako, it’s okay as it’s only means I’m effective in doing my job. Ang role ko kasi rito, nang mag-abroad si Dennis Trillo, akong ginawang panakip-butas ni Tom Rodriguez in his abscence. Na-in love ako talaga sa kanya at hinabol-habol ko pa siya pati sa wedding nila ni Carla Abellana, but ang totoo, si Dennis talaga ang real love niya.”

In real life, it’s common knowledge his girlfriend is model-host Divine Lee. Are they tying the knot soon? “Wala pang ganung plans. We’d really like to get to know each other better. Ayaw namin noong pakakasal kayo, tapos maghihiwalay rin later. We want to be very sure about ourselves. We’ve been on for almost three years and she’s really my longest relationship so far, but we still want to accomplish more in our careers.”
