Rachel Anne Go On Doing A Kissing Scene With Broadway Actor Dan Domenech In 'Tarzan'

RACHEL ANNE GO has a problem. “Tarzan The Musical” will open at the Meralco Theatre next weekend and it coincides with the start of the new GMA-7 Sunday musical variety show that will replace “Party Pilipinas”. GMA wants her to lead one of the four teams that will be headlining the show (tentatively titled “Sunday All Stars”), with Jolina Magdangal, Christian and Mark Bautista as the other three team leaders.

“Magsasabay ang rehearsals for the new show and weekend performances ko for ‘Tarzan’,” she says. “I don’t know what I will do. Nagpapa-excuse muna ko sa GMA show. I don’t know kung pagbibigyan nila ako.”

In “Tarzan”, she plays Jane and speaks with a British accent. “I hope makuha ko naman nang tama at maging consistent ako sa accent ko all throughout the play. It’s no joke, mahirap.”

How is her imported leading man, Broadway actor Dan Domenech, who plays Tarzan? “Magaling siya. Walang airs na galing siya sa Broadway and has worked in Hollywood. Okay katrabaho, magaan kasama, masarap ka-duet.”

We heard they have a kissing scene. “Yes, pero light lang. Hindi torrid. After all, musical ito na puede sa mga bata. Maraming hilarious comic scenes, lalo na yung involving the apes na nagpalaki kay Tarzan played by Calvin Millado and Ima Castro, and his sidekick, Jeffrey Hidalgo.”

Rachel Anne also sung the theme song, “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas”, being used in “Anna Karenina” that starts airing tonight after “24 Oras”, so you’ll hear her sing it every weeknight on prime time. “I recorded two versions of the song: isang suwabe at isang may birit. They chose to do the birit version. Magustuhan sana ng viewers ang version ko.”
