Now Is The Time For Erap To Redeem Himself As New Mayor Of Manila

BEING THE NEW mayor of Manila, now is the chance for former Pres. Erap Estrada to truly redeem himself after being ousted from Malacanang and convicted for plunder. This could very well be his last hurrah so we hope he’ll devote the next three years to show that he could’ve have really been a great president.

We all know that during the time of Mayor Lim, Manila has really deteriorated: dirty and shabby and crime-ridden. The baywalk that was alive and became a beautiful tourist attraction in the time of Mayor Lito Atienza was abandoned. It’d really be great if Erap could revive the dilapidated Metropolitan Theatre, like he promised in his campaign. And it would be much better if he could also improve basic city services on cleanliness, peace and order, health and education, the way the Binays do in Makati and which is why VP Jojo Binay is so “mabango” nationwide.

Erap and his vice mayor, Isko Moreno, are both former actors. And now, Yul Servo, the councilor topnotcher, is still active in showbiz. It’d be nice if they’d all team up together to do wonders for the dying city of Manila so that no one can say anymore of our actor-politicians na “mga artista lang kayo.” They should really be shining examples of movie stars turned exemplary public officials, just like Gov. Vilma Santos who has a good record so we have no doubt she’d easily win if she’d run for a national office in 2016.
