Mon Confiado Is The Busiest Character Actor With 10 New Movies To His Credit

MON CONFIADO, hands down, is today’s busiest character actor. He’s currently seen in “Dance of the Steel Bars” where he plays the prison cook often mauled by the tough guys around him. He’s the only one who has a love interest in the movie, Kathleen Hermosa, a nurse sent to prison by a doctor whose sexual overtures she rejected. He lost 40 lbs. to be credible in the role of a weakling and learned Cebuano as his lines are mostly in Visayan.

Mon is also in the cast of several other completed new movies: Erik Matti’s “On the Job”, Chris Castillo’s “Diplomat Hotel”, Toto Natividad’s “Saka-Saka”, Ato Bautista’s “Mga Alaala ng Tag-ulan”, Jon Red’s “Ang Pirata”, Patrick Alcantara’s “The Black Book”, Nick de Ocampo’s “Edades” plus the forthcoming “Batas Militar” and “Rematado”. On TV, he just played Dracula in GMA-7’s “Vampire ang Daddy Ko” and is seen regularly in “Cassandra: Warrior Angel” on TV5.

What can he say now that he’s ex-GF Ynez Veneracion is already a mom to a baby girl? “I’m very happy for her. She’ll always be special for me kasi 16 years din kami niyan.”

He used to be a regular in the films line-produced by Dennis Evangelista, like in “Dukot” where he played a big role. How come he’s not included in the new movies of Dennis anymore, like “Lihis”, “Burgos” and “Lauriana”? “Alam mo naman si Dennis, maka-Allen Dizon lang yun.”
