Cesar Montano On Having His Marriage To Sunshine Cruz Annulled

CESAR MONTANO is glad to be back to GMA-7 to play the lawyer lover of Lovi Poe in the new soap they’re doing, tentatively titled “Hanggang Ngayon”, co-starring with Rocco Nacino and Solenn Heussaff, directed by Laurice Guillen.

“I like the project as it reunites me with Direk Laurice,” he says. “Siya ang director na nagbigay sa’kin ng first acting award ko as best supporting actor in the 1989 Metro filmfest entry, ‘Ang Bukas ay Akin’. Suwerte ako with female directors. Ang first best actor award ko naman is from the late Marilou Abaya for ‘Jose Rizal’ which I did for GMA Films.”

The last shows he did with them are the telefantasya “Ilumina” and the sitcom “Andres de Saya”. Then he did “Never Say Goodbye” with TV5. And now he’s back with GMA once more.

Cesar says it’s not true he and his wife Sunshine Cruz are working on the annulment of their marriage. On the contrary, he’s doing everything to patch things up with Sunshine who’s now working with ABS-CBN.

“We’re still in the healing process. From the start, nandoon yung intention ko and determination to win her back at hindi ako titigil hangga’t hindi naaayos ito. But I don’t want to rush things. Gusto ko sa kanya manggaling na okay na siya. Basta naririto lang ako para sa kanya. I’m very positive and optimistic na maaayos din ang lahat. Nagkakausap naman kami. Nitong Father’s Day, I was with our daughters.”
