“Kakaiba siyang pelikula,” says Bangs. “Hango sa isang rue to life story na nangyari noong 1950 in Quezon Province. He’s a Philippine Constabulary captain and I’m a baylarina he falls in love with kahit may asawa na siya, si Rich Asuncion. Sexy yung love scenes namin, but yung scenes na pinapahirapan ako ni Allen dahil sa sobrang pagseselos niya that borders on obsession, nasaktan talaga ako. Talaga namang karumal-dumal, nakakakilabot ang ginawa niya sa pagkababae ko. It’s my first mature role, I’ve never done the scenes na pinagawa sa’kin dito. I’ve done love scenes with Jake Cuenca on TV, pero naka-tube ako. Dito, naka-plaster lang ako.”
Why did she do it? “I’m 26, I want to grow as an actress. I got offers before to go sexy but when I read the script, wala, bastusan lang. Ito, the script by Ricky Lee is really great, very challenging, and Director Mel Chionglo has done acclaimed films before like ‘Playgirl’, ‘Sinner or Saint’, ‘Teenage Marriage’, so I trusted him. I want to go up sa next level ng pag-arte with this movie. Feeling ko, dito, naging tunay na aktres na ako. It’s good si Allen ang kapareha ko kasi comfortable na ko sa kanya after I did ‘Marino’, ‘Migrante’ and ‘Burgos’ with him. Bale fourth movie na namin ito together. Feeling ko, kahit sexy ang movie namin, I won’t be considered just as a sexy actress. Magiging respectable pa rin ako and ‘Lauriana’ is something I can always be proud of.”
