'Miss Saigon's' Ima Castro Is Today's Busiest Theatre Actress

IMA CASTRO is obviously a favorite of the country’s top theatre company, Atlantis Productions. How else would you explain her being in the cast of all their theatre productions lately? She was in “Nine”, “Piaf”, in the current “The Full Monty” and also in their next musical, “Tarzan”.

“She deserves it,” says Director Chari Arrespacochaga who helms all these shows. “She’s very talented, very competent and a hard worker.”

In “Full Monty”, based on the hit movie about unemployed steel workers who become male strippers, Ima plays Vicki Nichols the wife of Arnell Ignacio as Harold whose love for her husband runs as deep as her love for luxurious things like Prada. “I am so happy to be in this show and I constantly look forward to being in our rehearsals as I’m in the company of such lovely co-workers. The show is hilarious and naughty, sure to give the audience a good time.”

Baring their all in “Full Monty” are Mark Bautista, Arnell Ignacio, Marco Sison, Jamie Wilson, OJ Mariano and Niño Alejandro. Aside from Ima, the other female cast members are Sitti as Pam, the wife of Mark; Ciara Sotto as Georgie, the wife of Jamie; and Jay Glorioso as the piano player.
