Jennylyn Mercado On Reports That She And Luis Manzano Will Tie The Knot Soon

JENNYLYN MERCADO dismisses persistent rumors that she and Luis Manzano are now planning their wedding. “Walang ganun,” she says at “The Bride and the Lover” presscon. “Nagtataka nga kami kung ba’t kami minamadali. May one year pa lang kaming on. Yung first year namin, we were just dating lang, hindi pa kami official. Now, bihira nga kami magkita kasi we’re both busy. Isa pa, my son Jazz is too young. He’s only turning 5 and needs my attention. Pag mas malaki-laki na siguro.”

What’s their plan for Luis’ 32nd birthday on April 21? “Wala. He’s hosting PGT so, may trabaho siya. Baka lumabas na lang kami after my own 26th birthday on May 15 kasi, by that time, baka tapos na ang taping ko for ‘Indio’. Right now, halos araw-araw ang taping namin kasi madugong gawin ang show at 4-hours ang travel time going to the set in Pagsanjan. Nasira kasi yung bridge doon and we have to detour sa bundok. Nagkakasama lang kami when we do diving sa Anilao, Batangas. Pero balikan lang yun. Pareho kaming enjoy doing underwater photography and I want to have a website displaying our fotos.”

If ever, would she want to have an underwater wedding? “Why not? For a change. But right now, hindi naman talaga yun priority at all.”

She was challenged by her role in “The Bride and the Lover” as a rich girl who heads a publishing empire. “First time ko gumanap ng mayaman at sosyal. Mahirap pala kasi nasanay akong poor ako’t laging inaapi. Maldita pa yung role, maingay, somewhat crazy. Si Lovi yung tahimik, pero patalbugan kami rito as rivals over Paulo Avelino, even in our lines. Tinawag ko siyang ‘Burikak’. Sabi niya, what’s burikak? Sabi ko, i-google mo. Yun ang start ng fight scene namin near the ending na kinunan sa Fernbrook Gardens from 2 to 6 PM, four hours. Bale ba, before that, kinunan naman yung wedding ko with Paulo from 10 AM to 2 PM. Kaya talagang pagod na pagod ako.”

So who’s sexier: she or Lovi? “Si Lovi. Mas payat siya sa’kin. Pero pareho kaming may two love scenes sa movie with different men. Ako with Paulo and Carlo Gonzales, siya with Paulo and Ahron Villena. Very classy naman ang execution ni Direk Joel Lamangan. Napakagaling ni Loving artista. Mata pa lang niya, nangungusap na kaya I also give my best in each scene para sabayan siya.”
